Religion may have began with Aztec Sun worshiping.

From the page I linked to:

"It is difficult to credit any one religion as being True or any one god as being True when there have been so many throughout human history. None appears to have any greater claim to being more credible or reliable than any other. Why Christianity and not Judaism? Why Islam and not Hinduism? Why monotheism and not polytheism? Every position has had its defenders, all as ardent as those in other traditions. They can't all be right, but they can all be wrong."

Religion has existed as long as humans have really. I can't think of a time historically documented that doesn't have religion.

well before relgion not that they all thought one thing just it first went by normal animal laws i cant remebr what they are called again it was the drawin law thing or somethign but the weak get crusded the stronger live on... that was it like before relgion a king who got there because of being strong and being able to control peoples lifes and if the disobad them they would be put to death... so it was go along with the idea till strong enough to revolt against it.... which its like all over revolting against things that group of people dont like and if they feel they got the power to get rid of it by then they rovlt against them.....
(>")> ha ha its kirby...

That's true on the account that you can't get everyone to believe the same thing. It's not that the world would be better without religion, it's that it's impossible to have a world without religion. Like in the South Park eps "Go God Go" 1 and 2 (sorry for the crude example XD), even if everyone belonged to the same religion, all the problems would still exist.

There is no way the world would would be better without religion. That would mean all people believe the same thing, and that would be awful, because some people need to have decisions to make about that kind of thing. someone would have made a revolution. Without religion, there would be a common belief system, and that would drive people crazy. This is kind of like the Tale of Symphonia, where someone realizes stuff is effed up, and they fight against it. This would happen, and people would believe what they wanted to, instead of being forced to believe only one thing.

Quite a mouthful, sorry I got carried away :P

Concerning the Roman Catholic "Apostolical" Church:

Do we have any evidence that great crimes or evils have been perpetrated by the Roman Catholic Church? Not by a Catholic, not by a Bishop, not in the "name" of the Church, or in the "name" of Christ, but by the Roman Catholic Church as a institution?

Obviously many will want to answer "yes". But can you cite sources? "Everyone knows...", or "Its common knowledge" will not be a good response. Which historical book do you cite as your historic evidence?

Have you read the book itself? Have you only read books "about" the book?

I would like to know your source for morality being established long before writing.

Is it something you accept on faith? Perhaps faith that human nature as it is now, is as it was long ago? and therefore because morality exists now, it would also exist before writing? Which of course would mean you have inferred morality to exist before writing.

Is is "simply logical" to assume it to be so? What is the logic? What is the cause that would provide the logical effect of morality? Is it "simply rational" to assume it to be so? What is the reason? Rational presupposes a "knowable" link between cause and effect. So what is your cause and how does it relate to the effect of morality?

Or do you have some evidence?

Religion and morality were established long before writing, also.

Did anybody read the page I linked to??????

Please read it.

It has a lot of good information.

I think this topic should be named "Would the World be better without the roman catolic apostolical church???" to the answer be, obviously, a "yes" right on your face, THERE is the problem, most of the worst things that ever happened in the middle ages and a bit after was "In name of Cristh", let's just hear some words from Stratovarius's Fantasia: "What kind of man fights for ideology? What kind of god justify violence?".

This is my opinion, obviously, each one of us has they'r won.
Once you're an young artist, you're tied to it untill the end, but if you fear the only one that you know can help you to spread your art, it's a pain...
