hmm i never said id like to live in another country. america is a ok place to live but it has so many drawbacks. @_@ and most other country do have some more problems but ever thing here is ethier hidden or bribed or over dramatised. and most people think of them selfs like the higher ups in the govt. and other areas of it. but got to learn to live with it, ya there are people that still come for jobs oppuritnes but it is kinda over dramatised as well theres not as many as it seems. allot of people in america are allready enimployed. thats mostly why there trying to keep people out its not profitable for the govt.but i dont really know to much bout london. guess once your back we can learn abit more bout it.^-^

a bunch of people come to america to look for better oportunity. for you to say it sucks its totally your opinion.

i know for a fact that ed is right. a bunch of hispanics (not just hispanics) come to america and for what? to get a job to feed the mouths of their children. they get stuck with the crappy jobs. sure sum complain but they still do it. cuz pay in mexico is not exactly very good.
i saw a bunch of people (kids included) on the street selling peanuts and candy. plus i saw a bunch of trash on the floor. cuz of the government. its not very good. police in the capital are curupt and they take bribes.

so i think that america is a good place to be.sorry for my rambling... i know that this is a thing for a trip to london...
idk ive never been to london.

You say that, but I think you would rather live there than some place living off 50c a day, where you would get beat for saying such things about the government.

no but really america does suck. all the stupid rules and most people think of them selfs. the whole govt is load. and all the high ranking people are takeing money from the people. they say the america ecouney is doing good we still owe a whole crap load of money thats why the gas is getting higher there makeing record highs ever year for the last like 4 years. if we have less gas and there makeing record highs something is wrong. but ya. im not sure if they do skate in london?? i think some people mite but really sure.
oh amps are pushing electics, and even though we do have more power or volts when i put a little pin in the socket when really little it hurt really bad but never tried it again.lol but im still alive, and ya 8 years means he been elceted twice. figure after ever one complained the frist time not sure how he got back in the next time>?? but he mite not be the best but we got him and he is better then the next secltion of people we have now.@_@ wow i ranted on again.@_@

I think you're all forgetting that this thread is to prepare ILP for his trip to london XD (to answer your question, I'm sure there are places you can)

I think you should all cut America a little slack. It may have it's problems and differences, but pointing them out won't do anything. It's a great place to live, and lots of people there are well off, so I seriously doubt any of the US peoples here are going to turn around and say "OMG! You're so right! We suck, I should move away tomorrow!" I would actually get pretty angry if people started ripping on Australia.

Ok Mich, let me clear this all up. There are two standard measurement systems, Metric and Imperial. Metric is the system used in europe, Asia and most other countries. It was invented by the french along with germany and someother European countries. The Imperial system is the system used by the British and some common-wealth countries. Imperial system was the first system developed as a standard system of measurments.

Then there's America, who uses a warped imperial system. They call the units by the same names as in the imperial system however a number of the actual values of measurement are different. In truth they have kept some (and only some) of the actual values of measurement the same. They are the ONLY ones who use it.(they still call it the imperial system even though it is NOT)

As far as plugs EVERYONE ELSE uses 220-240V/50Hz while america uses 110-127V/60Hz. Having a higher voltage means having lower ampage. This makes everyone elses 220-240V system safer because its the amps that kill not the volts. Also, if I recall correctly, you have less power lose with a higher voltage lower current power transfer, making it more efficient.

For your whole revolutionary war thing, great, good for you, you won a little war, so did loads of countries. It happened like 400 years ago or something. I mean who cares.

Oh and as far as Bush goes, if he didn't march into Iraq with his bull about nukes and stuff you wouldn't have the problems in Iraq. Sure that would all be happily blowing each other up but they would leave the rest of the world alone.
Oh and one more thing I know americans voted him in (twice), I didn't say they were smart.
