Islamic School In Country Town?
i just want to ask your opinion on this local problem

Oh, bar me, we're not preventing them from having their own school, I mean, there are Catholic schools everywhere here, it would be hypocrisy, but there is an Islamic school just the next town over from here, I think if parents feel the need to send their children to one; going to a school, that's already built, in a more multi-cultural community would be the best option. If they feel the need to move here, there's nothing wrong with them attending one of the 3 high schools already in the area.
Just a note about their veils Vixi: They wear em cause it's part of the religion. Yes, it is law in some of the Islamic countries I could image, and thus we respect that, but they continue to wear it in western countries because it's in their belief to wear it and save themselves for their husband. Although I don't like it when they call me a ... 'common slut', shall I quote, for not being quite as chaste with my cloths -_-

Just because they want to have there own tridetion's and want to go by there own fathe dose not mean they can't have there own school. I live in a commety were there are Catholic, Muslim, and public schools. I just happen to go to Catholic, only because I'm being forced >_>. I don't wanna talk about why. But I've leraned of tridition's and such that they can't do in public school. So if they want to bild a school were they won't be disgramnted by other's then let them!

No they don't HAVE to wear a veil there. I have a muslim friend and I was told that. Because he lives in Iran.

What got me going is the fact an English woman HAS to wear a veil in their country but a woman from their is allowed to wear a veil wherever.

I disagree with a few points with you there Vixi.
I believe its right for them to continue with their beliefs here, I think they have their right to wear veils. I don't know about owning English land though. Islamic an Islamic school doens't seem like a very bad idea, but then again, many people may disagree with the idea of it. Personally I don't have much of a problem with it, but I don't like the idea of them trying to change peoples religions, say if someone was Christian I don't think its right for Muslims to try and change that. If we let them be with their beliefs, they should let us be with ours. Nw I';m not racist, again far from it too. I don't have ANYTHING against Islam.

I am not racist ED far from it, I can even put up with Americans, there are some good few, you just have to find them. But England is for the English people. Islamic people number one have no right to own English land. Number Two have no right to build a school. If they want to be here they have to dress and act like we do. We have to do it in their country so they have to do it here. They don't like it then sorry but don't stay.
Have you noticed that though Ed, women have to wear veils because it is illegal to show their faces. But as soon as their over here it is okay to continue how they have even though we have to change if we're in there country. It is disgusting.
Now I used to know a couple of indian's and they still kept the veil on but they wore Jeans, tops, Jackets and they went to English schools. Islamics can do the same. So the options they should be given is
A Go home and continue their traditions
B Adopt our traditions and go to OUR schools

Our town has been going through major drama at the moment, so here's the deal:
The Muslim community want to build a school, just down the road from mine, specifically for those of Islamic faith. Our town has expressed a great dislike for the idea and thinks that not only will it cause problems with the students of our school, but will force a lot of changes on our town as well, not to mention that our town being a country town, we have our fair-share or Rednecks. I think a lot of this is out of fear due to the bad reputations Islamic people have gained in neighboring suburbs, as well as our town being primarily of Christian and Catholic population.
Do you think the school should go ahead? Why or why not? I personally don't want it, not because I have anything against what it will bring, but because it is clear the town doesn't want it here, and no one wants to move, and send their kids to school in a town where they're not accepted. I also think being built so close to our school, the idiots of our school and the idiots of the Islamic school will no doubt cause wars between us, I also don't see why they can't attend our school.
