The American Sailor Moon by DiC Entertainment was a heavily adapted version of the original, excluding much of the violence, and much of the mildly sexual behavior of some characters. These modifications for the American audience resulted in many old time fans having certain distaste for the modern sailor moon anime. Many of the original versions can be found on the internet or their anime DVDs may be purchased.
