Chapter 4: A taste of freedom.......

Mareah walked in to find Thones looking at his hand that were stained blood red. “THONES! ARE YOU BLEEDING!?”, she yelled as she ran over to him. He didn't even bear to give her any notice.
“No.......”, is all he whispered. She blinked a bit in shock.
“Then..............Then were did the blood come from?”, she asked nervously. That when Thones looked up. His eyes wide. He remembered what happen in every detail. He had slit Hope's through as her husband had an ax ready to chop his arm off when he grabbed, and ripped out his heart. Next was the baby. He wished he didn't remember what he did, but he couldn't help but face the fact he did. The baby's was the most brutal. He didn't even look away. He watched as he did everything, and he had a smile on his face. Tears ran down his face as if a river.
“I.........am a monster.”, he whispered back, “I am not fit to live any longer.”
Mareah looked at him. She didn't know what happen, or were the blood came from. All she knew is that Thones wasn't a monster. Yesterday when she had meet him he seemed to kind and sweet to even think about killing. Even now, tho covered in blood and a mess, she found him to be kind and caring. “No your not.”, she said wiping his tears away with her hand. She made him tilt his head to look at her, well he did keep his eye's shut. He wouldn't open them. “Your kind, caring, lighthearted, and really would you kill if not forced to?”, she still had his head cupped in her hands, “You are like a wolf. They will not attack unless provoked, and when they are. They are like a..........oh whats the word........ They are like............well............a”
Thones had placed one of his clean finger tips to her mouth. Sadly it was his middle finger that was clean. “Shush.....I understand........”, he said smiling a little, “....... Thank you.....”
When he removed his finger she wrapped her arms around his waist. “I'm glad you understand. Now we just need to get this blood off you.”, she said pulling away.
“Wait! WE!?”, asked Thones almost jumping from his skin, “What do you mean we!?”
“Well you can't really reach you back now can you?”, said said winking. Thones blushed a little.
“Now really who says I can't..........Oh Okay now I get it! THAT'S WORST THEN WHAT I SAID YESTERDAY!”, he yelled almost falling out of bed.
“But I thought you wanted the entire dish?”, she asked kissing his cheek. He blushed a little deeper.
“Must.......resist..........urge..........to.........kiss.”, said Thones bitting his lower lip, “Must..........resist........urge........to................fall................out.......of.........bed.”
Mareah giggled a little at him. “Awwwww...........so cute!”, came a voice from behind. They both jumped.
“Do-doctor!”, stammered Mareah, “Wh-What are you doing here?!”
he gave one of those 'I was just in the neighborhood' looks. “Well I came to give him his morning check up. Only to find this!”, he said pointing to them, “You do know this could get you fired, right? It would be a shame thought if you just went poof because of what you know about us. Now wouldn't that be a shame?”
In an instant Thones was in front of her. “I dear you to touch her.”, he said growling a bit. She looked at him. The doctor froze. “It's not so easy when your up ageist your on devilish creation now is it!”, he yelled as fangs manifested on the side of his lips.
“We created you and we can control you!”, he yelled after a gulp.
“Oh is that so? Then tell me.........”, Thones stopped as wings protruded from his back causing him pain, “.........How do you intend on controlling me?”
The doctor said nothing he just pulled out a small gun. One of the last after the war. “This.....”, is what he finally said. Thones drew a deep breath as his fangs cut his lip, and the pain got worse when his nails grew.
“You facing the devil himself. How do you think you will fear when I'm about to rip your heart out!”, when he said that he used his wings to get closer to him. About an inch. The doctors hand was shaking like mad. “IT'S NOT SO EASY IS IT!”, he yelled raising his hand above his own head. Suddenly he felt hands wrap around his arm. When he turned his head he saw Mareah, and his eye's turned back to Blue in a snap. Tears were in her eye's as she held his arm.
“Please don't..........Please don't hurt him.”, she whispered as she hugged his arm. Thones let go of the doctor and looked at the hand that held him. It was already covered in blood, but the question remaining was did he want it the color of blood forever? Did he want his skin to be red when ever he looked into a puddle or stream? He wrapped his arm around her and brought he close as he felt his body slowly change back into it's human form. The rest was black.
---------When he awoke------------
Thones opened his eye's to find that he was in a straw hut. Well along the lines of one. It's roof was straw, but it's walls were wood, and even one was rock. He set up and looked around. It seemed to have more then one room, and the room he was in had more then just a bed in it. A book shelf full of many books, a nightstand, and small bucket to clean your self with lined the three walls of the room. When he stood he found it wasn't big enough for his “6,3” body, and he would have to bind over to just get to the next room. But with every good thing there must come a bad. When he looked out the window he knew were he was. A small village just in the middle of the lands to the west. He didn't know much about these lands yet because others were just moving here. As a matter of a fact this was the first they were able to explore this far in years. 'I wounder how I got here?', he Thought as he wiped his eye's with his fist, 'I can't remember anything.'
That's when foot step's came from behind. He turned ready to attack only to find Mareah with a cup of water. “It's good to see you up.”, she said smiling. He nodded and took the cup when she offered it to him.
“Were...........were are we. I can't remember anything.”, he said after chugging the contents of the glass. She sat on the bed, and gestured him to set next to her. He obliged, and looked at her.
“This village really doesn't have a name yet.”, she said smiling, “but they welcomed us with open arm, and treated your wounds as soon as we got here. They've really accepted us.”
“And they being who?”, he asked. She couldn't help but giggle at Thones childlikeness.
“The towns foke silly.”, she said closing her eye's. Thones scathed the back of his head and nodded.
“Yeah I knew that I was just testing you!”, he said crossing his arms.
“Right sure ya' did”, she said rolling her eye's.
“But I Di-”, he was interrupted by a knock at the door. Mareah got up to see who it was. When she came back there was a older looking man with a small mustache standing there.
“Thones this is Mr. Rolfe. He's the towns doctor.”, she said sweetly. Thones closed his eye's and flinched at the word doctor. “Don't worry he won't hurt you like those other's did. He's nice and kind.”
“She told us of how you were treated, and I understand if you do not like me or trust me.”, he said bowing. Thones opened his left eye.
“I just don't like doctor after what they did to me.”, he whispered, “ But I am willing to give a person a chance.”
Mr. Rolfe smiled, “I just came by to ask how you were feeling. Do you have pain anywhere?”, he asked taking out a small note pad and pen.
“No......I'm fine. It's doesn't hurt anywhere, and I can see just fine.”, he said Opening his eye's the rest of the way. The doctor nodded.
“Then I will be on my way.”, he said walking out of the room, but he popped his head back in, “By the way that lass there thinks there is no other such as you.”
With him saying that he left. When Thones looked up at Mareah's face was blood red. This is when he took his chance. Standing up he put his arms around her waist, and pulled her close. “Tell me.......is that why you risked you own neck to get out of there?”, he asked kissing he cheek. She nodded. “Is that why you, even tho I had killed, still wished to love me?”, he asked. All he could get outta her were nodes. Well that was till he picked her up and put her on the bed. Then he manged to get a small squeak, and even then it didn't last long. He just covered her mouth with his lips. When he pulled back he said the word that always lead to heart brake. “I love you”.........
